The Board of the Faculty of Medicine (MFS) has held a meeting.

The meeting began with a presentation by Bo Ahrén on the status of the ongoing investigation into how animal operations should be managed in the future and how we can achieve the savings that will be needed there to make room for new academic jobs etc in the future. Thereafter Mattias Brattström presented a proposal for changes in the governance of the Med-service, Library and ICT (BIKT) units, CCM and the University Veterinarian. Deputy dean Jonas Larsson informed about a working group that has been appointed to develop an organisational model for the coordination of our largest infrastructures (except CCM), with a report in September.

Decisions

The decisions concerned regulations for the Lund University Virus Centre (LUVC), revision of the Action Plan for Teaching and Research Services at the Faculty of Medicine, funding of a professorship in geriatrics, appointment of two deputies to the Medical Academic Appointments Board (LFN), and announcement of three positions as Associate Senior Lecturer in Nursing. In addition the discontinuation of an appointment as Associate Senior Lecturer (DDLS Fellow) in data-driven research in the field of epidemiology and infection biology, and a new announcement of a position as Associate Senior Lecturer (DDLS Fellow) in data-driven research in the field of epidemiology and infection biology was up for decision.
