How to handle a personal data security incident

If there is a security incident involving personal data, you should immediately report it to dataskyddsombud [at] lu [dot] se (dataskyddsombud[at]lu[dot]se) and to servicedesk [at] lu [dot] se (servicedesk[at]lu[dot]se).

It is very important that the reporting takes place immediately so that the rights of the data subjects covered by the breach can be fulfilled and, if necessary, reporting is done to the Privacy Protection Authority according to the deadline set by the General Data Protection Regulation (72 hours from the time the organisation became aware of the breach).

Lund University's Staff pages has information about what constitutes a personal data breach.

If you are unsure whether an incident has occurred, contact dataskyddsombud [at] lu [dot] se (dataskyddsombud[at]lu[dot]se) for guidance or dataskydd [at] med [dot] lu [dot] se (dataskydd[at]med[dot]lu[dot]se).
