Library & ICT*

What we do

The unit provides strategic and relevant operational support for the faculty’s research and teaching activities as well as other administrative units. Our support services are based on the Faculty of Medicine's strategic plan, in addition to which we also need to consider university-wide decisions and guidelines for IT and library services at Lund University.

• Support scientific publication and dissemination of the faculty´s research output
• Provide efficient IT services, including Labsäk, and user-oriented IT support
• Offer relevant support for a secure management of research data, including tools, user support, and consultation
• Support digital teaching
• Provide liaison librarians for each programme, teaching students in scholarly communication and source criticism
• Operate two libraries with on-site library services – a part of the faculty learning environment.

How we work

Focusing on faculty staff and students

The core of our work is to provide accessibility and operational services that add value to the faculty's staff and students. Our aim is to provide an equivalent service regardless of where the employee or student is located.

Two departments working towards the same goal

There are two departments within Library and ICT Unit: Library Support for Research and Learning and Med IT. Both support research and education in several of the Faculty’s key priority areas.
