Networking and support service

Participating in networking opportunities and seminars during your studies is valuable. Making contact with other PhD students can be of great benefit. On this page you can read more about student unions and other forms of support available during your PhD studies. You will also find information about conflicts with supervisors and what to do if your studies do not go as planned.

Disability support services

If you have a long-term disability, you can receive study support during your doctoral education. The support is only available for credit-bearing courses during your doctoral education, and it consists of exam support and note-taking support. Please note that you need to apply for support.

Conflicts with your supervisor

During PhD studies, differences of opinion can arise between supervisors and doctoral students. They can sometimes develop into conflicts which, in the worst cases, become aggravated and have negative consequences on the doctoral student, the supervisor and the project. It is therefore important to work preventively so that conflicts can be avoided. If a conflict nevertheless arises, it is essential for both the doctoral student and the supervisor to be familiar with the necessary resources and procedures.

The Faculty of Medicine has established an action plan to prevent and manage conflicts between supervisors and doctoral students. The purpose of the action plan is to support the prevention of conflicts and managing a conflict if it arises.
