Teach at the undergraduate and master's level

Courses and study programmes at the Faculty of Medicine are based on student-centered learning and incorporate activities designed to stimulate active learning.

Student-centered and active learning

In the pedagogical action plan of the undergraduate education board, student-centered and active learning is central. Student-centered learning means that the student is seen as an active co-creator in learning activities and it emphasizes the student's own responsibility for the learning process.

Active learning engages the students in the learning process in various ways through creation and processing of learning material. Students may for example discuss, solve problems, formulate what they need to learn and give feedback to each other. Research shows that active learning has a positive effect on achieved learning outcomes and understanding. Team-based, problem-based and case-based learning are examples of active learning methods that are used at the Medical faculty.

Develop as a teacher

MedCUL (the centre for teaching and learning at the Medical faculty) offers shorter and longer courses in higher education pedagogy and also arranges workshops and seminars.
