Rooms for rest and rooms for reflection and contemplation
As staff, you have access to the rooms for rest. Some of them are open to students.
Rooms for rest
Keep in mind:
- You may only use the rest room for temporary rest, less than two hours. You are not allowed to sleep over in the rest room.
- Notify your nearest manager that you have gone there so that they can keep track of your condition and determine whether you need medical care.
- The room may not be used as a room for reflection and contemplation.
- If the rest room requires extra cleaning after use, please notify the reception in each house.
- The rest rooms should not be used for storage and there should be no candles or religious symbols.
Room for reflection
Rooms for reflection and contemplation are non-bookable spaces within the University that provide opportunities for meditation, reflection or prayer. The rooms are open to students and staff of the University, regardless of faith or belief.
Quiet room at the Faculty of Medicine is available at BMC in Lund. You will find it in building H, floor 11 (room H1112).
Please note that it is not possible to lock the room and that you may have to share it with others.
To ensure that everyone feels comfortable, the following rules apply to room for reflection:
- It is not allowed to:
- eat in the room – all food consumption is prohibited
- use the room as a meeting or study room
- light candles or incense in the room.
- Leave your shoes at the door in the designated place.
- Turn off your mobile phone (or use silent mode) so as not to disturb others.
- Do not leave personal items, such as books, yoga mats or prayer mats in the room.
