Printing and copying
The printing system used at the Faculty of Medicine is called PaperCut. Your printouts are placed in a central print queue and can be retrieved from any printer within the Faculty connected to PaperCut. Printouts remain in the printing system for 36 hours. You must have a Lucat ID to use the printers connected to PaperCut.
How to copy and scan
Installing LUPrint on your computer
To be able to print and copy, you need to install LUPrint on your computer, which will then work on all the printers in the printing system.
LUPrint is a standard programme in our LU common computer platforms PC.LU.SE and MAC.LU.SE. If your computer is not connected to these platforms, or if you are connected via the regional network, please contact ServiceDesk [at] lu [dot] se for assistance.

Log in with your Lucat ID to retrieve prints or scan documents
- Log in to the printer with your Lucat ID. You can link your LU card or other access card to your Lucat account for faster and easier use. You make the pairing at the printer: Place the card on the card reader and log in with your Lucat ID. Only one card can be linked to the printing service at a time. You receive confirmation that the card is linked and next time you simply place the card on the printer's reader.
- Select the desired function from the touch screen. If you want to scan a document, you can choose to have the scanned document emailed to you or save it to a USB stick (only available on certain printer models).
- Make sure you log out
If you'rehaving problems logging in to the printer, you may need to change your Lucat password. Go toChange your Lucat password on the Lucat portal. (It may take up to 20 minutes for the new password to take effect.)
Email attachments for printing
You can also send or forward emails with attachments for printing to any printer. Only the attachment will be printed, not the email itself. You may need to use different email addresses depending on your preferred paper size, single or double-sided printing, and colour or black and white printing.
