On March 10-11 Lund University will change the supplier for telephony services. The new supplier will be Telia.

Before the switch, if you have a university phone, you need to be aware of a few things.

  • The landline phones, Avaya, will be phased out.
  • When you switch to Telia, you will keep both your existing landline (046-222 xx xx) and mobile numbers.
  • There will be new subscription types, where the standard subscription allows for significantly more data than before.
  • Additional services will change, for example for international calls.
  • There will be a freeze period between 9 February–10 March. No telephone enquiries will be handled during this period.
    • Urgent cases can be handled; please contact the Service Desk.

New SIM cards

The physical SIM card that you have in your mobile phone, e-reader, and similar devices must be replaced. The new physical SIM cards will be sent out starting week 10.

Those who currently have an e-SIM via Tele2 will receive their new e-SIM from Telia. New e-SIMs will be sent out by email around 5 March. The email will contain instructions on how to activate your new e-SIM.

More information about prices, things to consider and further details can be found at New telephony services 2026 | Staff Pages (new tab).
