Cancer researchers and patient organisations met at Forum Medicum in connection with World Cancer Day.

Every year, Lund University's Cancer Centre (LUCC) and Skåne University Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Centre (SUHCCC) celebrate World Cancer Day. This year's event, which took place in Forum Medicum, focused on drawing attention to patient collaboration in research, and a representative of the organisation EUPATI came and talked about patient education in cancer. There was also the opportunity to mingle among posters from the cancer research network and an exhibition of some cancer patient associations.

At the event, the Maja and Hjalmar Leander Foundation's prize for best cancer thesis of the year was awarded. This year the prize went to Ervin Aščić for his thesis "Dendritic Cell Reprogramming for Cancer Immunotherapy". Congratulations to Ervin!
