Do you use BioRender? You need to apply for a new license

The joint license agreement for BioRender, which was previously managed and financed by the Faculty of Medicine, expires on February 10. Instead, a new agreement and a university-wide license model for all of Lund University will be introduced, where each user applies for a license via Lucat.

If you still need BioRender, we recommend that you follow the instructions in the support guide below and apply for a BioRender license in Lucat as soon as possible. Your application will then need to be approved by the manager responsible for the cost center. By applying for a license now, you will ensure that the transition to the new license management system for BioRender goes as smoothly as possible and that you will continue to have access to the tool after February 10.

After February 10, you'll log in to the tool via SSO login, and it will only be open to those who have an approved license in Lucat. SSO login means you'll log in with lucatid [at] lu [dot] se instead of the current login using an email address.

How to apply

Apply for a BioRender license in Lucat by following the instructions in this guide (new tab, login needed).

The cost will be automatically invoiced internally to the user's cost center once a year, as long as the license entitlement is active. The price is SEK 2,500 per person per calendar year. By comparison, an individual license directly from BioRender costs approximately USD 420 per year.
