The meeting began with the dean informing about that we now have a research infrastructure specialist and senior research infrastructure specialist in place, that there is a new process for professorial appointments and promotion to professor at Lund University. She also reported from the Vice-Chancellor's Management Council on international impact and fourth-generation universities, IT security, review of affiliations and on the BUL and visiting professor initiative. In addition to this, she talked about how the European Commission presented its legislative proposal for the upcoming framework programme for research and innovation, FP10, for the period 2028-2034 this summer and that it is proposed as a stand-alone framework programme. She also congratulated our two researchers, Camila Consiglio and Jacob Vogel, at the Faculty of Medicine who received ERC Starting grants.
The Vice-Dean then spoke about ongoing recruitments of professors, including visiting professors, and recruitments to senior lectureships and associate senior lectureships. He also talked about applications to the Swedish Research Council for new strong research areas and new excellence initiatives.
Vice-Dean Thomas Hellmark then informed about the finances of the education programmes, which look strained. CFO Marie Creutzer then informed about the budget conditions for 2026.
Decisions
Decisions at the meeting concerned the revision of the Action Plan for Teaching and Research Positions at the Faculty of Medicine, regulation of financial terms and conditions for the director of the Centre for Research Infrastructure in Health and Life Sciences (CRI), a request for promotion to Professor of paediatric and adolescent surgery, combined with the position of senior consultant, and a request for promotion to Professor of medical research, specialisation in molecular paediatric oncology. In addition, a decision regarding a call for a position as Senior Lecturer in global health, with a focus on health care systems, and a call for a position as Associate Senior Lecturer (DDLS Fellow) in data-driven research in precision medicine and diagnostics, were on the agenda.
