The Faculty's new coordinated service organisation was approved by the Faculty Board (MFS) today. On the first of January it goes live.

The reorganisation means that the unit level for Med-service and Library & ICT will be phased out. These departments will be placed directly under Unit Manager Mikael Rydahl. CCM and the University Veterinarian will retain their current structure but will be integrated into the joint structure Operational Support.
"The change is an important step towards a more professional and cohesive support for the entire Faculty," says Mikael Rydahl.

"By bringing together existing units under the joint organisation Operational Support, we can streamline the use of resources. Shorter decision-making paths and thus improved service to staff and students is the goal. We want to meet the needs of the faculty more directly and flexibly. By having fewer management levels, we hope to create a more efficient management that can provide better coordination between business areas and also financial savings."

For users and employees at the Faculty, the change means that there will be a single point of access to the support functions.

The new service organisation mapped out.

Do you see any difficulties with the new arrangement?
"Transitions always involve challenges. Dismantling unit levels requires clear communication and support to the affected employees. It is also important to ensure that we get started quickly and function in the new structure and that the collaboration between the departments works smoothly from the start."

The new organisational structure was approved by the Faculty Board today, 22 October, and will go live on the first of January 2026. What issues are prioritised right now?
"Right now, we are focusing on anchoring the change with employees and managers and ensuring continuity in service delivery during the transition. We also communicate clearly about roles, responsibilities and contact channels in the new structure."

Additional thoughts on the changes that you would like to share?
"Creating the new structure is an important step towards a more professional and agile support for the entire faculty. But it's not the structure itself that makes a difference – it's the people behind it. Through our committed employees, their skills, experience and willingness to develop together, we create better conditions for research, education and the work environment. It is thanks to them that we can build an organisation that is responsive to the needs of the faculty and that makes a difference in everyday life. I look forward to continuing to develop it together with our employees."

No changes in how to get in touch
