Speeches, mingling and lovely tunes from the Lund student orchestra Alte Kamereren echoed in Forum Medicum on 3 June when the Nursing Programme celebrated high ranking.

Pomp and circumstance in Forum Medicum. What were you celebrating?

– We celebrated that the Nursing Programme at LU is ranked second in Sweden - and that we also rank high internationally. It's a testament to the hard work that teachers, students and partners do every day to educate the nurses of the future with high quality, says Programme Director Anneli Jönsson.

Congratulations! Things are going well. Why is this important to recognise?

– Thank you! It is important to highlight good results and successful programmes - both to highlight everyone who contributes, and to strengthen the status of the profession. Celebrating our successes also shows that we are proud of our profession and that we take education and healthcare development very seriously.

Why should you choose nursing as a profession?

– Nursing is a profession for those who want to make a real difference. It is both intellectually and emotionally demanding - but also incredibly rewarding. You'll work with people at all stages of life and play an important role in both the healthcare team and the community. It is a profession where you develop throughout your life.
