Sonya Girdler, Professor of Occupational Therapy at Curtin University, Australia.

Are you a PhD student or a Postdoc at the Faculty of Medicine? Here's a golden opportunity for you to take part in a seminar that will give you new insights into why publishing is key to an academic career.

In a rare opportunity the Australian Professor Sonya Girdler will share her academic journey and authorship.

–  I will give you 16 life lessons for surviving and thriving as an academic, focusing on a tried-and-true approach to publishing, says Sonya Girdler.

The seminar will debunk the myths of an academic career – advocating the ‘customer service approach’ to being successful and how to build effective international collaborations in research, and why you should avoid being an ’airport professor’.

You can take part in the seminar on site at Forum Medicum, BMC or digitally via Zoom.

Visiting Professor Torbjörn Falkmer will be the host.

No registration required.

Welcome!

The seminar is organized by the Department of Health Sciences.
