The Board of the Faculty of Medicine (MFS) has held a meeting.

The meeting began with the dean informing about how we are working with the new hospital in Lund, that there is a negotiation in the local rent tribunal about the lease agreement at CRC, and about Forskningens dag (the Research day). Thomas Hellmark, vice-dean with responsibility for undergraduate education, spoke about a case of racism that happened during a teaching session in the medical programme's semester 9 that has caused concern among students and attention in the media. The medical programme's course management is now working to see how we should handle this situation and avoid similar situations occurring in the future (read more about the incident in Swedish).

Vice-Dean Jonas Larsson then spoke about the outcome of applications for funding from the Swedish Research Council (VR). This year's results look better than last year for Lund University. Head of the Faculty Office Mattias Brattström then informed about the proposal for a new organisation and meeting structure for work environment management at the faculty.

Decisions

Decisions at the meeting concerned the appointment of members of the ETP board (Excellent Teaching Practitioner) in the Faculty of Medicine's Pedagogical Academy, supplements to the faculty's action plan for teaching and research positions, and an appointment as an associate senior lecturer in developmental biology.

In addition to this, decisions were made on the allocation of the Faculty of Medicine's infrastructure funds in 2025, the allocation of received interest funds for 2025, and on the operational plan and resource allocation for the Faculty of Medicine in 2026.
