Report absence to avoid salary debt

Lönespecifikation

Have you been sick or been away for a long time?
"Remember to register your absence as soon as you are back so you don't get a "salary debt". By checking your payslip regularly, you can avoid financial surprises," says HR Partner Julia Friman.

A salary debt arises when the employer has paid the wrong salary. This can occur if, for example, you have registered a leave of absence retroactively, not reported sick leave or have not registered your parental leave correctly in advance.

There are different ways to settle a salary debt. This can be done automatically by deducting future salary or repayment via invoice. If necessary, an instalment plan can be discussed.

"To avoid this, it is important to register all types of absences that affect the salary directly. Longer leave must be registered at least one month in advance," says Julia Friman.

Tips to avoid salary debt

  • Plan for your leave well in advance and check that it is correctly registered.
  • If you are going to be on leave in May, register this at least one month in advance.
  • Report sick leave in Primula already on the first day of illness and report healthy the same day (when) you are back.
  • Check your payslip (found under "My page" in Primula): Go through your salary every month to detect any errors in time.
  • Contact HR: In case of uncertainty about salary and absence, consult with HR to ensure that everything is correctly recorded.
