Help shape the future of our Faculty

Are you interested in the future of the Faculty? Take part in the election of the Nomination Committee for the Faculty of Medicine. If you are eligible to vote, you will receive your ballot by email. Cast your vote no later than 1 December.

The mandate for the current Dean, Deputy Dean and Faculty Board expires at the end of 2026. The process of proposing candidates for these roles begins with the faculty staff electing members to a Nomination Committee (see fact box). During the spring, the committee will prepare a proposal, and the election will be held in the autumn.

Why you should get involved

Here are a few voices from the previous Nomination Committee on why you should take part in the election:

Eva Ekvall Hansson, former Chair of the Nomination Committee:

“The work of the Nomination Committee is important and offers an opportunity to be involved in shaping the future leadership of the faculty. Members of the committee need to have a good understanding of the organisation, but also a forward-looking perspective – what developments are on the horizon in society? What should we as a faculty focus on in the future in terms of education, research and third stream activities?”

Karin Leandersson, representative of academically qualified teachers:

“I feel it’s part of our responsibility as employees, and it doesn’t require too much time.

You get a chance to influence the future of the faculty and, of course, gain a better understanding of how the various elections within the faculty work.”

Emma Idman, representative of other staff:

“It’s stimulating to enter new contexts and make new connections within the faculty, so this was a great opportunity to work together with others towards a common goal. It’s also exciting to be part of the process of proposing candidates for leadership positions. In that process, you meet and interview people from the organisation and learn what they find important and what they are passionate about.”

The election runs until 1 December.
