All Lund University employees and students are welcome to participate. Info sessions: 25/3 & 16/4. Applications are open until May 5.

The Future Innovations Award celebrates groundbreaking ideas from Lund University. Ideas with the potential to change our world. It has now opened for applications for 2025. Since its start in 2017, it has become an important platform for developing and showcasing innovative solutions from Lund University.

Record prize pot from Sparbanken Skåne

This year, a total of 1,050,000 SEK will be distributed among seven winners, and the competition welcomes ideas from all faculties. The prize money, which is financed by Sparbanken Skåne through their owner foundation Sparbanksstiftelsen Finn, is more than twice as large as in previous years. The competition is organised by Lund University's innovation office, LU Innovation, on behalf of Lund University.

In the previous edition, Magnus Cinthio, Tobias Erlöv, and Isabel Gonçalves won in the employee category after developing a new method that uses ultrasound to identify patients at high risk for stroke: "The combination of publicity and prize money had a really significant impact on the project," says Tobias Erlöv, researcher at the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
